About Meadowlark Ranch
Meadowlark Ranch is a family-run operation located near New Salem, North Dakota. Established in 2012, the ranch began as a new venture when our family relocated to the area. From the beginning, our focus has been intentional: build a quality herd, invest in proven genetics, and develop a bull program that serves the needs of working cattlemen.
We raise Angus and Sim-Angus bulls, selecting for traits that matter in real-world production environments. Our breeding decisions are guided by data, structure, and performance — not trends or shortcuts.
Our Approach
Ranching is detail work. We believe that producing quality bulls requires careful herd management, honest evaluation, and a willingness to make hard decisions about which animals move forward in the program.
Every bull we offer has been selected based on:

Moderate birth weight paired with strong growth potential
Calving ease matters, but so does performance after birth. We select bulls that deliver high weaning weights without compromising maternal safety.

Reliable genetics
We work with proven Angus and Simmental bloodlines, focusing on consistency and predictability rather than chasing extremes.

Structural soundness
Bulls need to hold up over time. We evaluate feet, legs, skeletal structure, and overall conformation to ensure longevity and functionality.

Individual performance data
We track and use actual data on each animal. Selection decisions are informed by numbers, not guesses.
Only bulls that meet our standards are placed for sale. This isn't about moving volume — it's about offering animals we're confident will perform.
What Sets Us Apart
We're not trying to be the biggest bull operation in the region. We're focused on being consistent, credible, and responsive to what buyers actually need.
Our private treaty sales model reflects that philosophy. Rather than selling through auction, we invite buyers to visit the ranch, spend time with the bulls, and make informed decisions. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, review data, and understand what you're buying before you commit.
We're building Meadowlark Ranch for the long term — and that means prioritizing quality and relationships over quick transactions.

Looking Ahead

While our current focus is on bull sales, we're also developing the herd with an eye toward the future. In the coming years, we anticipate offering open and bred heifers as well, further expanding the opportunities we can provide to regional cattlemen.
For now, our primary commitment is simple: produce quality Angus and Sim-Angus bulls that work, stand behind what we sell, and build a reputation you can trust.
Built on Quality, Not Volume
Meadowlark Ranch was established in 2012 when our family relocated to the New Salem area. Over the past decade, we've focused on building a herd with strong genetics and developing a bull program rooted in quality and consistency. We believe in offering fewer bulls that meet a high standard rather than simply offering more.
Whether you're adding to an established operation or building your own herd, we're here to provide bulls that perform.
